ABANDONED: Letchworth Village I

Letchworth village is a place with a sad and haunting history. Built in 1911 as a residential institution for the disabled, this property was closed down in 1996 after many years of inadequate funding. Letchworth gained notoriety when the gross neglect of patients was made public: resident patients were found in extremely poor conditions - unclothed, unbathed, and suffering from malnutrition. While the patients were often made victims, there were also several reports of abuse among co-workers. Even sadder, majority of patients were children aged 5 to 16. As this property truly sounds like a depraved horror story, it's no wonder Letchworth has a reputation of being haunted.

Despite the horrible things that have happened on this stretch of land, it has yet to be demolished & seems to be a popular place for locals to walk their dogs. The property is patrolled by security in order to keep people out of the decaying buildings - most of which are boarded up and covered with poison ivy. Many have been damaged from arson and are unsafe for exploration. Spanning many acres of land, several houses and dormitories still stand, along with the most iconic building - the hospital.

Would you visit this supposedly haunted location?
