NEVADA: Visiting the Neon Boneyard

The Neon Museum was by far one of our favorite stops during our visit to Las Vegas. The museum includes a gift shop and outdoor "boneyard" where the old neon goes to rest. The museum is dedicated to preserving and restoring these pieces, so although they are no longer as shiny as they were in their glory days, many do still work! We took an hour long guided tour to learn about the history and craft of neon - which is exactly the kind of nerdy stuff we love to get into.

Combined with the history of Las Vegas, the Boneyard is a stunning landscape for anyone that enjoys ruins and roadside attractions. We opted for a daytime visit - but the museum does also allow visitors at night - where you can see the signs lit up!
