BUCKETLIST: Our Top 10 Ideal Travel Destinations

“It’s a big world out there. It would be a shame not to experience it” – J. D. Andrews
There is so much out there to see, and honestly we want to see as much as possible. While it was difficult to narrow down, we chose 10 of our top travel destination dreams to share with you below. We love serene mountainous adventures, and perhaps you will see some of your top travel destinations below as well!

10. CANADA
Canada seems like somewhat of an under-rated destination. They have a ton of gorgeous parks and fun cities that we'd like to immerse ourselves in. It's hard to choose which part of Canada to explore when each of the territories seem to have something great to offer. If you've been lucky enough to explore the territories, comment below and let us know what some of your favorite locations were.

9. USA
While we've done a fair bit of travel around our home country, there are still many things we've yet to see. We'd love to visit a number of the National Parks, as hiking is a major inspiration for us to visit a place. The US is such a huge country, with a huge variety of different landscapes and micro-cultures to explore. Some of our ideal states to explore include: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii & Utah.

8. INDIA
India is a huge place, bursting with color and history. It's a photographers dream to travel here - with the stunning mountainsides and breathtaking architecture. The Holi festival seems like an incredibly fun celebration, and the intricately detailed temples are a definite draw.

7. COSTA RICA
As Floridians, we typically like to escape to places with cooler weather and lots of mountain hiking. We aren't really the types to seek out beaches or warm weather. However, Costa Rica seems so incredible it's hard to resist. Kaili is a Biology nerd, and being able to witness one of the most biodiverse areas in the world is a worthy goal.

6. THE NETHERLANDS
Amsterdam seems like a gorgeous city, and the tulip fields look like a dream. There is unique architecture abound, and museums full of incredible art. Additionally, due to the lack of over-building in the surrounding environment, most of the country is host to natural habitats that are teeming with wildlife. And of course, as fans of good craft beer - we would love to sample the local brews.

5. IRELAND
Castles, beer, and rolling country sides - Ireland seems like a great vacation destination for us. The weather is moderate, the city's historic, and the coastline is surreal. There's something to be said about exploring your ancestry, and as Kaili is very Irish - it would be an enlightening adventure.

4. FRANCE
Of course - who doesn't want to go to Paris? Not only does France contain this iconic city (full of art, history and great food), but the country seems incredible as well. France seems like an incredibly sensory place, full of good food & wine, beautiful landscapes and bustling cities.

3. NEW ZEALAND
Glacial fjords, ancient rock formations, surreal landscapes and of course - the location used for much of Lord of the Rings! As fantasy nerds - this is a bucket list must-see (our header has a JRR Tolkien quote for hobbits sake). Above all, however, the incredible geography inspires us to want to travel to this unique destination. We would love to go hiking anywhere in New Zealand.

2. JAPAN
Japan is the ultimate destination for a Westerner in search of complete culture shock: the landscape, lifestyle, and architecture is so incredibly different from what we are accustomed to. We would love to explore the busy cities, beautiful parks, and peaceful temples that Japan offers. From the busy neon streets of Tokyo to the tranquil temples of Kyoto - Japan seems like a place where you will never be bored.

1. ICELAND
Time for an announcement: we will be going to the land of fire and ice this September! Iceland will be our first international road trip. As Kaili has never been outside of the US, this is a huge milestone in exploring more of the world. Iceland is so unique and wild, visiting is absolutely a dream come true. We look forward to exploring this incredible landscape & sharing our experiences and photos with you in the future.

  2. Excellent Top 10 Bucket List of Countries! I am from Toronto, so my suggestion is to visit Western Canada first - either British Columbia or Alberta - as it is by far the most beautiful part of our country. Montreal and Quebec City will give you a taste of "Europe within North America," so that is my second choice. The Atlantic Provinces of Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick will give you a taste of small town Canada. Fresh lobster, friendly people, and great opportunities for partaking in outdoor adventure. That would be my third recommendation.

As for Ontario and Toronto specifically, I just find my hometown to be "tourist friendly." Our public transit is terrible and the downtown core is gradually seeing long time businesses and night clubs turning into poorly designed condo development. However, we are a huge sports town - Raptors, Blue Jays, Toronto FC and Maple Leafs - and we do have some great restaurants and craft breweries here if that tickles your fancy at all! Hope you make it up here to our lovely country sometime soon.
